Pamper Your Pet Party

Webkinz Style!

We had a difficult time deciding what to do for Pie Pie's Birthday Party this year. We knew we wanted to do something with Webkinz, but we weren't sure exactly what.

Ooooooooooo

Aaaaaaaaaaaah!

Then I was at a homeschool planning meeting and a friend had a great idea for Pie Pie's Party. She had a Pamper Your Puppy Party for her daughter. I decided to use Webkinz instead of puppies. Perfect!
Pie Pie loved the idea too!
We went to the Dollar Store to get supplies. The day of the party we set up all the stations and Pie Pie and her cousin made signs.

First you washed your pet. We had a little tub filled with Styrofoam packing peanuts. The packing peanuts were the bubbles. There was also a loofah to scrub your pet.

When your pets were clean you could brush their teeth.

Do their nails.

Don't forget to give them a makeover.

Last we had a massage area. When the pets were all done being pampered you could give them a bow and a new collar.
Here is one of my bestest friends, Dotsy, with a very pampered pet!
When your pet is happy, you're happy!

We followed up all of the pampering with Pie Pie's Surprise Pudding!

Yummy!

There was also a small issue with our new upstairs neighbor and a big bucket of mulch! You know what they say about Vegas, the same is true here! What happens at our house stays at our house! I could be persuaded to tell you the story for my own spa day! Actually, I'd tell you for less! Some cookies or candy would probably do the trick!

Have you pampered your Webkinz lately?!

P.S. I just wanted to let you know I am aware there is a lot of P's in this post!

More Advent

Advent continues at our house. Just to let you know from last week the wrapped books idea went okay. The first day was a little confusing for the girls, but I explained  a little better and they understood. If you don't read my blog a lot and you are confused read my first Advent post. That should help you out!
This week we did some different events. Some were fun and some not so much! We were together as a family for most of them so I think they were worthwhile.
1. We made two Webkinz!
This was Pie Pie's idea. She loves Webkinz and wanted to make one. Sewing is not my thing, my friend usually helps me with those kind of projects. However, I was willing to tackle this and we had an interesting time. They came out pretty cute and the girls loved them. Pants named hers Sugar and Pie Pie named hers GoGo.

Daddy was a little hungry!

No, I will not make one for you too, but feel free to tell me I did a good job!

2. I made a Countdown Calendar.
It is very simple, but it lets my girls know how many days are left until Christmas and what our plans are for the day.

3. We went to a Tree Lighting.
This event was just okay. It was a fun experience, it just took a while to actually light the tree. The girls got bored because we got there too early. If there is a next time we will go a little later. The singing was nice, unfortunately the mic was on someone who sang a little off-key. I know I'm cruel, but maybe they shouldn't have been right in front of the mic!

There was also some shenanigans going on that I can only tell you about in person! Just mention the number three if you really want to know!

4. We went to a Christmas Parade.
It was kind of cheesy but Pants loves parades. I even got up early to go to this one! I am so not a morning person, but I love Pants! Santa waved at us from his golf cart and we saw Mrs. Claus. Santa really does come to our town!

5. We put up our tree.
We do this event in two parts. First we put up our tree with lights, garland and the angel. We put the ornaments on after we celebrate Pie Pie's Birthday on the twelfth. Putting the tree together with Daddy is one of the girls' favorite Christmas events. I'm not sure they would have as much fun with a real tree.

Pants says our tree is beautiful! I have to agree. Do you see my bubble lights? I love them and have to have them!

6. Make an Advent Calendar.
I really, really wanted this neat Advent Calendar with pockets and characters that velcroed onto the picture. Unfortunately we didn't have the cash to buy it in time. I decided to do something even better. We made one! We painted a background on cardboard and are going to add characters each day. So far we have a sheep, stars, donkeys, a parrot, angel and a monkey. I promise Mary, Joseph and Baby Jesus will make it to our picture by Christmas! We are getting the stable all ready for them.

I am having a hard time keeping this picture taped to the door! Do you think hot glue would help?! I will try to remember to post a picture of the finished picture!

Now I know that these events don't all exactly point directly to Christ, but my goal is to slow down the Holidays. Even if it's just a little bit! I want to enjoy each day not sprint to the finish line which is Christmas!
I read in a book recently that reminded me Jesus only had three short years in His public ministry. He never rushed. He took the time for the little things and the big things.
Slow down and take your time!
Christmas will be over before you know it!

But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the city of David a Savior has been born to you; He is Christ the Lord. This will be a sign to you: you will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.
Luke 2:10-12

Thankfulness Abounds

The Thankfulness continues at our house! We've added onto our lists and will continue until the first day of Advent. I might just keep going until the end of the year. I'll just cut out some Christmas shapes. There can never be too much Thankfulness!

I love Yankee Candles!

Psalm 95:2
Let us come before Him with Thanksgiving and extol Him with music and song.

A little more of our Thankfulness lists!

Pants
Mermaid, Devin, Ace, Apples, Santa, Grammy, Grumpy, lambs, markers, rocks and waffles

Pie Pie
Food, Redbox, Pants, My Friends, Pokemon movies, Mommy, Olivia, Megan and Miss Pam

Me
Lighthouse Co-op, soft pretzels, Birthdays, God's Grace, homeschool, sleep, friends, Co-op Moms, cameras, the Bible, Ema and God's Sacrifice for us all

I know there is a little something called The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade on Thanksgiving that you may have heard of. We had a smaller version at our house recently.

The Webkinz Parade!

Pie Pie led the parade and Pants brought up the rear as Drummer Pants! Pie Pie got a lot of exercise leading the parade back and forth through the house! I've heard that there is a possibility of another parade coming to our house soon!

However you and your family choose to celebrate Thankgiving this year I hope you have a great time!
Happy Thanksgiving from my family to yours!

Soda Pop, Soda Pop!!

Guest Blogger
Pie Pie

Our family has nine Webkinz. They are cool because you get to play with them on the computer on the Webkinz Wesite and you get to snuggle with them. The bad thing is they die on the computer. It is fun adopting them because you get to name them and pick if it is a boy or a girl. You can also adopt 'Mazing Hamsters from Miss Birdie. Miss Birdie helps you adopt your pet on the website. When you adopt your pet you get a big welcome balloon.

When you are playing on the Webkinz Website you can open places like the Kinzville Academy, the Employment Office, the Curio Shop, and/or the Wish Factory. Kinzville Academy is a school for pets. You get to style a hippo named Plumpy's hair. You can cook pancakes. You can even give your Webkin a check-up from Dr. Quack. Dr. Quack is married to Miss Birdie.

This is Chip. He is a Raccoon.

This is Ginger. She is a Strawberry Cloud Leopard.
This is Ozzy. He is an Oppossum.
This is Blackie. She is a Black Poodle.

Sometimes your pet will get a fever. If that happens you will have to feed it more food. These foods might help your pets keep healthy: carrot cake, chocolate cake, blueberry pie, and hamburgers. My monkey Bananas loves bananas!

These are the twin Cheeky Monkeys- APom and Bananas.

This is Soda Pop. Soda Pop is a Cherry Soda Pup.

This is J.P. He is a Jelly Bean Puppy.
This is Bamboo. She is a Pretty Panda.

My favorite song at Webkinz of the Year Outlet is Tiger, Tiger. It is a really good song!
Soda Pop is my favorite Webkin. She has cherries on her ears.
Soda Pop says, "Hi!". So does the rest of the gang!
